The 100th day of school is an exciting time in Kindergarten! The KG department at A.M.I.S organized the 100th Day’s activity on the 3rd and the 4th of February 2020. This day, signifies the 100th day of coming to school for children. The symbolic representation, however, is much greater than that. The 100th day marks a special opportunity to reflect upon, and celebrate major milestones in the students’ academic achievement. For this reason, we want our students to recognize this special day among all the other days during the scholar year. The best part is that celebrating this day can span all the subjects!
Teachers planned a set of activities and games throughout this day inside the classes, and here is a summary of all the exciting activities students did!
- They sang, moved, danced, and counted their way to 100.
- They incorporated 100 days’ themed books into their daily read-aloud time to practice comprehension skills while counting to 100.
- They created art crafts using stickers and stamps to count to 100.
- They read, wrote, and sorted 100 words.
- They filled in a hundred chart by adding and writing numbers.
- They counted sets of 100 using manipulatives.
This day helped students improve their knowledge in understanding the concept of numbers. It was wonderful to see the beautiful grins ,and the proud looks on the students’ faces.
