AMIS student council saw a need to raise awareness about the danger of soil loss, so they promoted world soil day by encouraging students to plant a seed and discussed issues such as soil erosion and preserving soil. They explained to students the importance of soil as it gives us vegetables, fruits, and food. Everything is connected to soil.
Anti-bullying week
“Students are saying no to bullying”
To celebrate the anti-bullying day, our students, both online and onsite were wearing a different pair of odd / unmatched socks. Also students did different activities inside their classes to learn more about the importance of this issue and to be aware of the different types of bullying; how to deal with it and how to express their feelings toward it.
Cancer Awareness – Pink Day
Al Manar International School celebrated Cancer awareness month which is a yearly campaign that intend to educate students about the importance of early screening and testing. This campaign starts on October 1st and ends on October 31st every year.
For this event, the nurse prepared an informative video about the disease, its causes, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure. AMIS students were encouraged to wear pink to celebrate people who fought the disease and mourn the ones who lost the battle.
AMIS student council committee took the opportunity to promote cancer awareness by preparing a pre-recorded video about cancer types, symptoms, causes, tests, and treatments. Sharing posters and messages about hope under the theme “Give hope save lives”
It was a very successful and informative event for the whole Al Manar international school.
World Food Day
World Food Day is celebrated annually on the 16th of October. This day generates awareness globally for those who suffer from hunger and to ensure the need for food security and nutritious diets for all.
The student council wrote a speech to create awareness about the existing problems of obesity and malfunction due to hunger, they shared with the student’s body this information through a video, emphasizing that together we will eliminate the problem of hunger.
World Teachers’ Day
AMIS Student council members celebrated Teacher’s Day on the 5th of October, 2020 which is an annual celebration to express their love and gratitude towards their beloved teachers.
The Student council members wrote a thank you speech to show how much they appreciate their amazing teachers for their outstanding efforts and support throughout the year. They celebrated this special day by surprising all teachers ‘on that day with a recorded video to thank them for their hard work and show how much they appreciate it.
World Students’ Day
World Student day is celebrated on 15th of October, 2020 every year across the world. Student council members started the day by a speech during the morning assembly to celebrate this special day with the student body.
They shared with the students’ body the primary duty of a student which is to learn and acquire knowledge in order to shine in any sphere of life and serve his society and country.
They encourage AMIS Students online and onsite students to wear their favorite costume on that special day.
