On Thursday, the 6th of April 2017, Al Manar International School (Dafna Campus) celebrated the Career Day. On this day, students in kindergarten to sixth grade, get to dress up as what they would like to be when they grow up. It is just so cute and it is so fun to see how ambitious these kids can be.
The idea behind the Career Day is to show students early the importance of learning. Exposing kids of all ages to the world of work can broaden their perspectives and spur them to more interesting and productive careers.
The day was also a time for the community to come to the school and speaks to students about what they do; doctors from the American Hospital, dentists from Al Wehda Dental Center. Students visited different professions, all within the walls of AMIS, to understand the different career opportunities available for them. There was also a mental Math competition among students of grade 4, 5 and 6.
There is nothing better than seeing a huge smile on a child’s face, a smile created through a desire to learn and excitement for education.
