The Festival of Traditional yachts is usually held once a year, an opportunity to revive the heritage and introduce the younger generations and acquaint them with the types of old ships, fishing tools and related professions such as opening oysters and sea songs.
The festival is an interesting experience to restore one of the most important legacies of the Gulf; the sea profession.
Based on the importance of this heritage, Al Manar International School, Al Dafna Campua, organized an interesting and enjoyable trip for fourth graders to Katara beach on Thursday, 16 November, 2017. They learned about the cultural heritage of a large number of countries who participated in the festival this year such as Oman, Iraq, Turkey, India, Greece and Zanzibar. The students participated in cultural, traditional and artistic activities through various workshops that highlighted details of old culture. The students were keen to buy some artifacts and traditional handicrafts and enjoyed a cruise on one of the largest traditional yachts in the festival,
Enjoyed the good air and wide sea amid great joy.
