English and Arabic Reading and Writing Week

Almanar School > Schools > English and Arabic Reading and Writing Week

Reading is the inhale, writing is the exhale!

The English and Arabic Departments in AMIS, Dafna, organized the Reading and Writing week activity from 5th to 9th of November, 2017.

To enhance the importance of reading among students, we organized many outdoor and indoor educational activities throughout the week. We had volunteer teachers who came and read for the students and it was a great moment and experience for our teachers. Students had, as well, an opportunity to experience reading beyond the class walls, as they visited the next door park to read in openness. More than that, we took all students, in turns, on trips to a Borders book store, Doha Festival City to see and buy books and stories of their choice.

Students had great fun competing in Spelling Bee, Reading Race, Debate and movies Critique. Writing skills were not left behind, as we had students writing about the importance of Reading, while others had a chance to write Gratitude letters to their parents and teachers.

The KG section had their particular joyful activities that were full of fun and smiles. The lovely angels had the Pajama Day and The Puppet Show that marked sharing between the elementary and the KG students. Plus, we had volunteering parents who came and read for students…

This Reading Feast was crowned by a Character Day, where all students came to school wearing their favorite book characters. The school corridors and halls turned into Festival ground, with the lovely creative decorations covering all class doors and boards.
