On the 7th of May 2023, the Social Studies Departments at Al Manar International School orchestrated a remarkable event, the Junior Ambassador Conference (JAC), hosted at the prestigious Hilton Hotel. This gathering brought together 19 students from grades 3, 4, 5, and 6, to delve into the critical theme of “Reducing Waste, Protecting Resources.”
The significance of such a theme resonated deeply with our students, compelling them to articulate the profound impacts of wasteful practices on our environment and society. While the initial mention of natural disasters and earthquakes may seem disconnected, it underscores the broader concept of environmental stewardship and resilience against such calamities.
As an annual tradition, the JAC organized by AMIS serves as a platform for our students to confront diverse global challenges. Through rigorous research and training, we empower them with the necessary skills to evolve into future delegates and orators.
This year’s event surpassed expectations in terms of engagement, with students representing 19 different countries. Moreover, esteemed guests graced the occasion, enriching the discourse with their wisdom and expertise.
Among the distinguished guests were:
Dr. Kareem Rady Badr, Associate Researcher at Qatar University.
