Junior Ambassador Conference ( J.A.C )

On the 7th of May 2023, the Social Studies Departments in Al Manar International School organized the JAC event (Junior Ambassador Conference) at Hilton Hotel.

The number of students participating in this event reached 25 students, from grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. The conference’s topic was about “Natural Disaster: Earthquakes”, such an important topic involved our students in expressing themselves in introducing natural disasters and especially earthquakes that can have a destructive impact on us. The calamity does not affect only our lives, or belongings, it affects how we view life itself.

The JAC is held every year by AMIS, which allows our students to approach the different challenges children face. At this regard, we engage our students to make research for collecting information, and we train them to gain the needed skills to become future delegates and orators.

This year, the event was so exciting for all of us in terms of topic, guests, and participants. The conference lasted for around 3 hours; students represented 25 different countries, in addition to the participation of our honored guests who flourished the session with their knowledge and experience.

The conference was enriched with the participation of the Ambassador of Turkey, (Dr. M. Mustafa Göksu), the Ambassador of Mexico (Mr. Guillermo Ordorica) Mr. Jairo Lopez Bolaños, Chargé d’Affair from the embassy of Costa Rica, Mrs Patricia Lawrence Kiswaga, Deputy Head of Mission from the embassy of Tanzania, Mr. Badr al adwani from Kuwait Embassy, Mrs Marwa Al Saleh radio host at Sout Al Khaleej and Dr. Saif bin ali alhajari (Member of Qatar Foundation).

To conclude, AMIS’ students and guests enjoyed the program of the conference, and we were proud to raise students’ awareness towards global challenges and daily life concerns.
