“Garangao is an annual uniquely Qatari tradition for children celebrated after fasting 14 days in Ramadan. Children usually dress up in festive outfits, carry a bag around their necks, and visit their neighbors and friends, knocking on doors, singing special songs, and receiving sweets from them.

AMIS celebrated this occasion with students on Sunday, March 24th , 2024. The Religion and Qatar History departments presented various activities throughout the day. Classes from Kindergarten to Grade 2 practiced singing Garangao songs. Grades 3 to 5 celebrated this occasion during their last period.

This event boosted Qatar identity pride and contributed to highlighting the importance of Qatari traditions.
