Week 6 AMIK kindergarteners were exposed to a wide range of activities that improved their reading and writing skills and increased their interest in books.
Children learned the value of books and reading. Listening to stories became one of their favorite activities. KG2 students visited the KG1 and Preschool classrooms and read stories to their younger friends. They also tried themselves in drama and prepared an amazing role play of the famous story The Little Red Hen. All the children enjoyed the puppet show prepared by our teachers.
To crown this one-week literacy run, we celebrated Character Day on Thursday, October 11th. Before the event teachers, encouraged students to choose the costume that make connection to a well-loved book and be creative in preparing the outfit. Cinderella, Rapunzel, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Harry Potter, Alice and many and many others famous book characters were spotted in our campus on that day. Children were excited to recognize in their friends the heroes from the books and felt proud to present their book characters.
During the Reading and Writing week our kindergarteners had lots of new experiences and gained one special friend – a book. We truly hope that this friendship will be lifelong.
