Math Day

“All mathematicians share… a sense of amazement over the infinite depth and mysterious beauty and usefulness of mathematics.” -Martin Gardner

Math activities offer a great opportunity to introduce and enforce students’ appreciation for math.

AMIS celebrated math day on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. It was really a wonderful day full of hands on activities and games. Classes were divided into teams; Grades 1A, 2A, 3A ,4A,5A and 6 A wore a red T-shirt, grades 1B,2B,3B,4B,5B and 6 B wore  a yellow T-shirt.

First and second graders enjoyed playing addition and subtraction games as well as problem solving balloons. They were excited about matching base ten blocks.

On the other hand, our lovely third and fourth graders participated in math arithmetic’s competition. In addition to place value, find equivalent fractions using fraction tiles and multiplication games.

I cannot forget my fabulous fifth and sixth graders. They did a great work in competing with other sections. They entertained the games about operations, equations and expressions, multiplication and division, Simplifying Fractions.

It was an amazing day!! We awarded the students with the best creative math hats designed with nice gifts.
